Then it all stopped as it was difficult to stay on top of. I don't remember anyone freezing the starter which would have made life a lot easier. I've just started the sourdough process in January and love it. So far, I've made biscuits, pancakes, and bread with more to come. Your bread looks yummy!
Farmhouse hugs,
CindyOld Time Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13964393517651645084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9008331738873213597.post-6920775332201331532013-02-24T19:39:34.278-05:002013-02-24T19:39:34.278-05:00My mom used to make a starter called "herman....My mom used to make a starter called "herman." I feel like it may be similar? It was a milk/sugar/flour combo that sat on the counter and we mainly made coffee cakes and pancakes with it. It is yummy! At first I loved it and was so happy to have it and was having fun. But after several rounds of it I was growing weary. Then I forgot to follow directions on one day (or maybe two lol) and came home from work with an exploded bag all over the counter where the yeast had expanded and I hadn't opened the bag up to release the excess air. I threw it out as it was everywhere. Years later, I was told you could freeze it. Duh Huh! I wished I knew that then....lol.

~AnnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9008331738873213597.post-37575331435125214122013-02-22T09:33:36.283-05:002013-02-22T09:33:36.283-05:00I had a friend give me some Amish Friendship Bread...I had a friend give me some Amish Friendship Bread a couple of years ago.
